The Wim and Lia van Leer Award for High School Students
The Youth Film Competition, founded in 1991 in memory of Wim van Leer, will be held for the 25th consecutive year at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
The competition, which provides a first opportunity for students specializing in film from around the world to screen their works, has become an important festival tradition.
Every year, over 100 films, both dramas and documentaries, are submitted to the competition, reflecting young people's experiences, desires, fears, loves and values and depicting their spiritual world. Fifteen films are accepted for the official competition. These will premiere at the festival before an audience of hundreds of young viewers. At the end of the Youth and Cinema happening, the winners will be selected in special ceremony.
The awards are sponsored by Vivian Ostrovsky and the Ostrovsky Family Fund and The Third Ear
The Jerusalem Film Festival would like to thank all of the teachers, coordinators and young artists for their hard work! We would like to especially thank the jury panel.
