Rana Abu Fraiha-Asyag

First female Bedouin film director in Israel, screenwriter, editor. Studied Architecture & Screen Based Arts at the Bezalel Academy, Jerusalem. Rana’s first documentary, In Her Footsteps, is the recipient of multiple awards and has been screened internationally. She was named one of of Forbes Israel's "30 Under 30," in 2019. Her short screenplay, co-written with Dafna Feldman, won the Jerusalem Film Festival’s 2024 Pitch-Point Competition.

Rana Abu Fraiha-Asyag currently serves as a professor at Sapir College. She is in the pre-production stages of her first feature film and is an advocate for the growth of Arab and Bedouin art in Israel.
