Renowned Mexican director, writer and producer. His latest, DREAMS, starring Jessica Chastain, premirered at the Berlinale 2025. His previous films include include AFTER LUCIA (UCR Prize, Cannes 2012), CHRONIC (Best Screenplay, Cannes 2015), APRIL'S DAUGHTER (Jury Prize UCR, Cannes 2017), NEW ORDER (Jury Prize, Venice 2020), SUNDOWN (2021 Venice), and MEMORY (Best Actor, Venice 2023). Under his Teorema banner, he produced FROM AFAR (Golden Lion, Venice 2015), WORKFORCE (TIFF 2019) and HEROIC (Sundance 2023).
