Eiv and Nurit grew up in different places. Nurit grew up in Jerusalem, Eiv grew up in Rome. Yet their childhoods share an intimate bond of accidental disaster. Nurit was four, Eiv was ten.

One accidental moment carries weight which shifts the direction of a story. In Then Suddenly, For Ever and Ever, Mamuta's spaces become the set for a film, taken from Eiv Kristal and Nurit Dreamer’s own biographies and fantasies.

Nurit and Eiv approach Mamuta as the venue for the reconstruction of their story. They blow up a single documentary moment into a sequence of semi-fictional scenes organized cinematically.

Then Suddenly, For Ever and Ever is an invitation to revisit a tragic moment of their past, turned into the poetic three-dimensional present.

This is the first show by two young and promising artists who are part of the artists in residency program at Mamuta Art and Research Center. Both artists are graduates of the School of Visual Theatre, Jerusalem. “Then Suddenly, For Ever and Ever” is a commissioned exhibition for the Jerusalem Film Festival, with the support of the Ostrovsky Family Fund.
