The Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students 2025

The Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students celebrates 34 years!

The Youth Film Competition celebrates the debut films of students from the entire country and is one of the festival's most important and beautiful traditions.

Every year, over one hundred narrative and documentary films are submitted to the competition. The films reflect the lives of teenagers, their desires, fears, loves, and their moral and spiritual world. The films accepted to the official competition will premiere at the festival, before an audience of hundreds of young viewers.

At the end of the Youth Film Competition, the winners will be announced in a moving and festive ceremony.

Moderator: Shani Cohen

Jury Members: Shirley Oren, Shlomit Arviv, Arnon Weiss

The awards are generously sponsored by the Harman Family, Teddy Productions, the Jerusalem Educational Authority, and the Jerusalem Cinematheque.

The 34th Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students will take place on Thursday, July 17, Cinematheque Hall 3.
