Launching the Micha Shagrir Collection in the Israeli Films Archives

Director and Producer Micha Shagrir filmed Israeli society for five decades: leisure time in Israel in the sixties, interviews with IDF soldiers along the Israeli borders in the seventies, the immigration and rescue of Jews from the Diaspora alongside television programs and advertisements in the eighties, propaganda broadcasts in national elections and the onscreen representation of Jerusalem in the nineties – all of these moments and many more merge into an in-depth portrait of the diversified and ever-changing tapestry of Israeli society. Through the personal lens of Shagrir, MOMENTS OF TRUTH provides a broad perspective of Israeli television and a retrospective glance at Israeli culture within the contemporary context of the twenty-first century.
A short ceremony will take place before screening to launch the Micha Shagrir Film Collection in the Israeli Films Archives upon reaching its complete digitization and restoration since 2014
