This year, we celebrate 50 years to mk2, the French film company established in 1974 by Jerusalem Film Festival longtime friend, Marin Karmitz. mk2 is driven by a genuine and profound love for the art of film and spans various fields - from production to distribution and international sales, to screenings in its beautiful venues in France and Spain. Over the years, mk2 has produced films for esteemed directors such as Claude Chabrol, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Louis Malle, Abbas Kiarostami, Claire Denis, and Xavier Dolan among others. In recent years, they have also excelled in sales and distribution with Céline Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, six new films from mk2 will be screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival in various categories. During the month of August, the Jerusalem Cinematheque will host a Classics Program from the company's collection.
