Knife + Heart

France, Mexico 2018 | 100 minutes | French | Hebrew, English subtitles

Paris, 1979. Anne (Vanessa Paradis) produces low-budget gay porn for a living. When her lover, and editor, leaves her, Anne tries to win her back, and sets out to film what she believes will be her most ambitious production. But when a lead actor is brutally murdered, she gets caught up in a strange investigation and her life takes an overwhelming turn. Yann Gonzalez’s new film, which premiered at Cannes this year, is “a deliciously campy slasher flick exploring the dark side of desire.... If Dario Argento, Brian De Palma and Kenneth Anger conceived a three-way love child while watching Cruising and listening to a Giorgio Moroder mix tape, the result would be... Knife + Heart” (Hollywood Reporter).
