Despite warnings against boredom and the freezing cold, Anders, a Danish school teacher takes a teaching position in a rural fishing village in Greenland. The locals are already familiar with European customs and its cultural differences, but for Anders, this is a new challenge. He will need to learn the language to communicate with his students and their parents, while getting used to life without running water in sub-zero temperatures. Renowned for his hybrid approach, French director and cinematographer, Samuel Collardey, skillfully combines staged scenes with cinéma vérité. Against breathtaking landscapes shot under severe conditions, Collardey traces Anders’s story and his beautiful relationship with a local child.
