In a remote alley in Seoul, in a most unpredictable location, lies a café where guests sit and chat. Across the street, the owner of a small grocery has planted all sorts of vegetables in large pots. As the hours pass, the guests mingle and get to know one another, staying late into the night, sipping soju. A lone woman observes them and records her thoughts. Korean auteur Hong Sangsoo’s new film weaves mundane situations and conversations into a series of captivating encounters between men and women, as only this master can. In this little enchanting drama, Hong continues to cooperate with magnificent actress Kim Minhee and interjects bits of fine classical music (Shubert, Wagner, Offenbach).
