Belated Measures was edited using recently discovered 16mm film reels that were shot in 1948, found in the archives of the LEHI Heritage Association in Tel Aviv. LEHI was a small Jewish paramilitary group operating in Palestine from 1940 until the foundation of the State of Israel. These film materials were never shown in public until now and no other copies are known to exist. This film-essay attempts to share the results of 4 years of research into the content, context, and possible meanings of these silent images while presenting the history of photography as it is intertwined with the history of modern warfare.
