Runaway Train | Barfly

Manny (Jon Voight) is the toughest convict in a remote Alaskan prison who, along with fellow inmate Buck (Eric Roberts), makes a daring breakout. Hopping a freight train, they head for freedom, but when the engineer dies of a heart attack, they find themselves speeding towards certain disaster.

Henry is a part-time writer and full-time lush, who spends most of his time in a seedy downtown L.A. bar. He is “discovered” by a female publisher, who is convinced that he’s a literary genius. Henry is forced to choose between success and his familiar life on skid row.
