The Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students

The Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students celebrates 33 years!

The Youth Film Competition celebrates the debut films of students from the entire country and is one of the festival's most important and beautiful traditions.

Every year, over one hundred narrative and documentary films are submitted to the competition. The films reflect the lives of teenagers, their desires, fears, loves, and their moral and spiritual world. The films accepted to the official competition will premiere at the festival, before an audience of hundreds of young viewers.

At the end of the Youth Film Competition, the winners will be announced in a moving and festive ceremony.

Moderator: Yaniv Biton

Jury Members: Nechama Yehoshafat, Shlomit Arviv, Erez Barenholtz

The awards are generously sponsored by the Harman Family, the Israel Film Fund, and the Jerusalem Cinematheque.

The 33rd Wim van Leer Competition for High School Students will take place on Thursday, July 18 2024, Cinematheque Hall 3.
