Miranda July is one of those cultural figures who commands attention in a wide range of fields (film, literature, visual arts) and reaps success in them all. Her big breakthrough in film occurred in 2005 when she was awarded the Camera D’Or for Me and You and Everyone We Know. In 2011, she presented her second feature, The Future, at the Sundance and Berlin Festivals. This year, she returned to Park City with Kajillionare, where she continues to refine her unique sense of humor and eccentric characters. The plot focuses on a pair of swindlers who have been nurturing their only daughter Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood) for 26 years, perfecting her skills for trickery and deceit. But when a stranger joins one of the family scams, she manages to upset the family dynamic.
