Pawel Pawlikowski

Paweł Pawlikowski is a Polish filmmaker, who has lived and worked most of his life in the UK. He garnered acclaim for a string of award-winning documentaries in the 1990s and for his features Last Resort and My Summer of Love, both of which won a BAFTA and many other awards. His film, Ida, won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. At the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Pawlikowski won the Best Director prize for his 2018 film Cold War, a film which also earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film. (Poland)

Joseph Cedar

Born in New York and raised in Jerusalem, Joseph Cedar is one of Israel’s most acclaimed and renowned film directors. His first feature Campfire (2004) won the Israeli Ophir Award for Best Film and Best Script. He is a two-time Academy Award Nominee for Beaufort (2007), which also took the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlinale, and Footnote (2012), which received the Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival. His latest film, Norman, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2016. Most recently he created the series Our Boys for HBO. (Israel)

Daniela Michel

Daniela Michel is the Founding Director of the Morelia International Film Festival. She has curated major retrospectives of Mexican classic cinema and has served on the Jury of the Un Certain Regard and La Semaine de la Critique sections at the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival, among others. (Mexico)
