Power

Israel 2019 | 14 minutes

A video essay dealing with the relationship between man and the natural world and focusing on the dual meaning of the word "POWER," both as an electrical energy and as a political and economic significance. The first chapter begins with a story about a man trying to bring the objects in his home to life by using various homemade mechanisms to overcome the loss of his dog. In the second chapter, an electrical socket dances on a dark stage against a backdrop of photographs documenting the power outages in the Gaza Strip. All of these materials are fused together into one visual narrative, through which I seek to explore the nature of our relationship with the world and offer another possibility for a harmonious and equitable existence.
